Christine Asuncion is a Licensed Acupuncturist in both New York State and Hawaii. She is recognized for her high achievement designated as a Diplomat of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She holds a four year Masters of Science degree in Acupuncture, Herbology & Oriental Medicine from the well established Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (CA & NY campus).
She has over 18 years of clinical experience & continues to cultivate her knowledge & experience participating in seminars & observing & learning along side special Japanese Master practitioners. Her professional background includes rehabilitative therapy working closely with a Physiatrist in New York and physical therapy with sports medicine.
Christine has always followed a path of working with the body to improve, enhance and preserve its overall well-being. Choosing to participate in this method of healing has allowed for her to continue her growth and success in achieving harmonious health. In addition, she also holds a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from the School of Medicine from West Virginia University. Currently, Christine Asuncion maintains her private practice on Maui, Hawaii and is the owner of I’ao Acupuncture & Spa, an Oriental Medicine wellness center providing gentle and effective healthcare to the community and those traveling through the Islands.
She practices Traditional Japanese style acupuncture, a mild method of needling, focused moxibustion (yaito) techniques and strong emphasis on palpation. She continues to enhance her skills by receiving special training and studies with highly acclaimed Shudo Denmei Sensei, Funamizu Sensei, Miyakawa Sense, Tsuda Sensei from Japan and with Jeffrey C. Yuen, who is the 88th Generation Daoist Master of Yu Cing Huang Lao Pai (Jade Purity School), Yellow Emperor/Lao Tzu Sect as well as those teachers sharing their knowledge and expertise on Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Acupuncture Facial Medical Restoration. She has also extended her training in Taiwan at the China University Medical Hospital, which is acknowledged for Acupuncture and Zheng Gu Tui Na (bone setting). Her medical specialties range from acupuncture pediatrics, orthopeadics, fertility, cancer care treatments, addictions and acupuncture facial rejuvenation.
Lisa Buell trained in Thai Massage in Chaing Mai Thailand 1999 and has enjoyed it’s practice & effectiveness ever since. Craniosacral therapy sessions are her newest offering, with training from the Upledger Institute beginning in 2017.
Lisa brings a sensitive awareness cultivated through years of Yoga (26+ yrs), Ballet (20+ yrs) and Hula (20+ yrs). Sessions with her bring rejuvenating relaxation, decompression of tension and are enhanced with an acupuncture treatment. MAT#8003
